Steamship Historical Society of America Maritime Video Library
The Steamship Historical Society of America has expanded its library of maritime videos to include interviews with three immigrants who came to the U.S. by sea after WWII, including a German family aboard the SS UNITED STATES; Americans who relate their experiences sailing aboard student ships, such as the GROOTE BEER, a cheap way to get to Europe to further their education; and the wide range of leisure activities passengers engaged in during transatlantic crossings from the U.S. to Europe, and the even longer voyages from the U.S. to Japan; and England to Australia. Additional topics include a teenager’s first ocean liner crossing and the experience of sailing through a North Atlantic hurricane, plus much more.
