At our January virtual membership meeting, Dr. Stephen Payne, O.B.E., designer of the Cunard transatlantic liner QUEEN MARY 2, presented an illustrated lecture celebrating the 20th anniversary of the commissioning of the ship. “Genesis of a Queen: QUEEN MARY 2” is a very personal journey on how the design of QUEEN MARY 2 evolved and what makes her an ocean liner as distinct from a cruise ship. This is considered the definitive lecture about QUEEN MARY 2.
