For most of its history Holland America Line has had a ship with the name Rotterdam in its fleet. As a result they are now up to number seven. The ships clearly show the evolution that passenger ship design has made during the last 150 years. During his informative and entertaining program, Captain Albert Schoonderbeek, current fleet master of Holland America Line, showed us how the seven Rotterdams of “The Spotless Fleet” evolved from emigrant carriers into showcases of the latest ideas in cruise travel.
