DESCRIPTION:At our October virtual membership meeting\, PONY Branch member Ben Lyons presented (via Zoom) a program on the Five Deeps Expedition. The expedition was the first to reach the deepest point in each of Earth’s five oceans: the Puerto Rico Trench (Atlantic Ocean)\, the South Sandwich Trench (Southern Ocean)\, the Java Trench (Indian Ocean)\, the Challenger Deep (Pacific Ocean) and Molloy Deep (Artic Ocean). \nThe expedition took place over a ten-month period between 2018 and 2019 and covered 47\,000 nautical miles with 39 dives completed. \nIf you missed Ben’s informative presentation in October\, or would like to see it again\, we encourage you to join us for an encore showing on Saturday\, November 13th. \n(This encore presentation will be a recording of the live program presented on October 29th.) \n(Photo: fivedeeps.com)
